“June saw little to no rainfall over much of the US, especially in the east. A dry June in the PNW increased drought concerns with Washington seeing an increase to close to 70% of the state in drought and a move to nearly 4% of the state in moderate to extreme drought. All but the northwestern areas of Oregon were drier than normal in June increasing the state’s drought footprint to nearly 30%. All but the extreme northwest of California experienced a drier than average month.”
