“Wine club performance reflects one of the clearest areas of pressure within the direct-to-consumer model. Growth has slowed, and in many cases, net club membership is flat or declining. Club size and member loss also vary by region and winery type. Larger clubs are not immune to attrition and smaller clubs do not necessarily grow faster. The underlying dynamic is consistent. Retention has become as important as acquisition.”
