Today’s Most Interesting Wine Industry Data
“The average bottle of wine sold at retail in the United States costs roughly $12.00; the average bottle shipped DtC, $48.35. We note this to emphasize the outlier nature of Napa County wine shipments. In 2023, the average bottle of wine shipped from a Napa County winery to a consumer cost $86.43. Even with the 4.7% decline in the volume of shipments from Napa County wineries in 2023, just under $2 billion worth of wine was shipped from Napa directly to consumers last year, representing no significant change from 2023.”
