“The bulk market has continued to be extremely slow, currently exacerbated by the focus on harvest. Opportunistic buyers have been present on the market, mainly seeking wine for private-label programs, and not in the volumes that would make much of a dent in the state’s inventory. A large part of this inventory consists of Cabernet and, in turn, much of that Cabernet is Coastal, currently at pricing that has softened but is potentially still above where the market sits.”
