Summit State Contributes to Sonoma State Wine Program

Summit State Bank Contributes to Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute


Rohnert Park, CA- Summit State Bank has demonstrated their commitment to Sonoma State University’s Wine Business Institute through a financial contribution to the Institute’s new Wine Industry Finance and Accounting certificate. The contribution will help underwrite new course materials for the Finance and Accounting program. Students enrolling in the popular certificate program will be provided with a course handbook to serve as an ongoing resource and future reference to the program’s content as they help contribute to the development of the industry.

Summit State Bank is a Sonoma County-based community bank and is involved in a variety of activities in support of the local community. As part of its community support initiatives and in recognition of the importance of higher education and the value it brings to our local community and industries Summit State Bank has added Sonoma State University to its long list of local non-profit and other organizations to which the bank donates.

Participants in the Institute’s Wine Business Finance and Accounting program who are new to the subject are strongly encouraged to enroll in the Intro to Finance and Accounting for the Wine Industry seminar which covers topics such as financial statements, GAP, ratio analysis, time value of money, ownership structures, taxation basics, and cost accounting. This Intro seminar lays a foundation for and will prepare you to take the core seminars required for the Wine Business Finance and Accounting Certificate. The Wine Business Institute offers seminars aimed at giving students the tools and practical solutions needed to grow and be successful in the wine industry. Led by Industry Professionals and Experts students are offered an educational experience unique in its field.

Wine Business Management Certificate (online) starts January 22nd

Wine Business Finance & Accounting and Tasting Room Management certificate seminars start February 5th

Wine Entrepreneurship Certificate starts February 27th
