(Napa, CALIF.) – The Wine Industry Symposium Group has appointed Lisa Adams Walter as their new Director of Programs. After producing landmark wine trade events such as the Wine Industry Financial Symposium, the Central Coast Insights Program and the Vineyard Economics Seminar for more than twenty years, the Wine Industry Symposium group is poised to build on their continued success by expanding social media and improving its reach to the entire wine community.

Lisa Adams Walter majored in Communication Studies at California State University Sacramento, graduating with an emphasis in PR and Advertising. She has run her own PR consulting firm Adams Walter Communications for 15 years, and will simultaneously continue in that role. Her prior professional experience includes working as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations for Wine Business Publications, for the Napa Valley Vintners Association on the second Premiere Napa Valley and as the Director of Public Relations for the Sonoma Valley Vintners and Growers Alliance. She currently serves as the Assistant Executive Director of the Academy of Wine Communications, as well as an appointed representative on the Arts and Culture Advisory Committee to the Napa County Board of Supervisors.

The founders of the Wine Industry Symposium Group met in early 1992 with the hope that by forming a new industry conference, they would create an open exchange of thoughts and ideas concerning financial aspects of the California wine industry. The Wine Industry Financial Symposium was born. A couple of years later, in 1994, the group started a similar program, the Central Coast Insights Program, to fit the needs of that region. A year later, the Vineyard Economics Seminar was created for grape growers.
