Society of Wine Educators Launches Blog – Wine, Wit, and Wisdom

Submitted By: Tara Thomas, April 15, 2013
Washington, DC – The Society of Wine Educators (SWE) is proud to announce the launch of its official blog: Wine, Wit, and Wisdom (http://winewitandwisdomswe.com). The SWE blog will feature articles on the newest developments in the world of wine and spirits, updating readers on regulatory changes, trends, production methods, and world regions. Wine, Wit, and Wisdom is authored and administrated by Jane Nickles, CWE, an award-winning wine writer and educator with over 25 years’ experience in the field of wine and culinary education.

As the official blog of the leading wine and spirits educational organization in America, Wine, Wit, and Wisdom will give voice to many of the top wine and spirits educators and leaders in the nation, as well as guide those who are in the process of studying for any of the SWE’s highly regarded certification programs. “My goal is to make this an active discussion of the key issues in our business,” says Nickles, “and I will not be doing that alone. I will encourage and challenge our membership and other key leaders to participate with their ideas, information and opinions.”

The blog will also provide engagement for readers by holding contests, offering quizzes, and providing updates on the latest programs and events the SWE offers. Among the highlights of the blog will be notes on the annual conference in Orlando in late July. “There will be guided tastings presenting wines and/or spirits from at least 15 different countries and 42 wine regions from around the world,” says Nickles. “Among the instructors teaching the sessions will be 21 Certified Wine Educators, 6 Master Sommeliers and five Masters of Wine. That’s an amazing line-up, and all of them will be featured in the blog.”
