Company launches its fifth brand with “Bringing Austerity to Wall Street” stunt
Sonoma, CA – April 2, 2013 – Cecchetti Wine Company is enjoying its 6th anniversary with recognition from several respected business and beverage publications, a successful brand launch with Austerity, and a new and improved website at www.cecchettiwineco.com.
In 2012, Cecchetti Wine Company sold a record 340,000 cases of their affordably priced California wines, including Redtree, Line 39, Backhouse, and Exitus. Portfolio wide sales volume increased 30 percent compared with 2011. Leading the charge was Backhouse with an increase of 93 percent to 62,000 cases, followed by Line 39 with an increase of 30 percent to 112,000 cases, and Redtree at a 12 percent increase year-over-year to 162,000 cases. The company’s new 2012 entry, Exitus red blend, sold approximately 3,000 cases as part of an exclusive with beverage chain Beverages & More! With a strong first quarter of 2013, the company is on track to sell approximately 400,000 cases this year for 15 -20 percent growth rate.
As a result of this success, Redtree, Line 39 and Backhouse were named 2013 Growth Brands by Beverage Information Group, which is an annual ranking of the fastest growing wine and spirits brands. This is the third consecutive year for Redtree and Line 39 on the Growth Brands list. Backhouse was also named to the Technomic 50 that ranks the top fifty spirits, wine, and beer brands that achieved significant volume gains last year and are positioned to continue growing in 2013.
“We have come a long way since launching our first two brands in 2007 with Redtree and Line 39 to now having five brands expected to sell more than 400,000 cases this year, including our recent successful launch of Austerity wine,” says Roy Cecchetti, founder and CEO of Cecchetti Wine Company. “The success is a result of our talented winemaker, sales team, and great relationships with our distributor, retailer, and restaurant partners around the world,” he added.
Since the winery’s launch in 2007, Cecchetti Wine Company has received numerous industry awards and recognition for its growth. Redtree and Line 39 received consecutive Impact “Hot Prospect Awards” from 2008 to 2010, along with dozens of Best Buy ratings and other accolades for its quality, affordable wines. Last fall, Cecchetti Wine Company was selected to the Inc. 500|5000, a list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S. This was the second consecutive year the company made the list and the fifth time founder Roy Cecchetti has lead a company selected for this prestigious award.
Bringing Austerity to Wall Street
With all the recent fiscal cliff and sequestration debate among Congress and fears on Wall Street, Cecchetti Wine Company took matters into their own wine glasses with a national launch of Austerity. With assistance from an armored security truck, the winery hand-delivered bottles of Austerity Proprietary Red and White Blend to the CEOs of seven major banks on Wall Street. It was a clear message that well-made, quality products should not burn a hole in consumer’s pocketbooks. Check out how they reacted at http://www.cecchettiwineco.com/Our-Brands/Austerity.
Austerity, wines of the highest discipline, was created to help bring a budget-conscience mentality towards consumer wine spending habits. Austerity features two Proprietary California wines, a red blend and white blend priced at an affordable $16.99 per 750ml bottle. The Austerity Proprietary Red Wine is blend of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot. The Austerity Proprietary White Wine is a blend of Riesling and Chardonnay. Both wines are sourced from prime vineyards throughout California.
