Napa, CA – Barry Gilbert has been appointed to the board of directors of eWinery Solutions of Napa. With previous top positions at Smith & Hawken, The Sharper Image, and Warner Bros. Studio Stores, industry veteran Gilbert brings years of CEO and strategic board vision to the company.

In 2001, Gilbert was named CEO of outdoor product leader Smith & Hawken, where the company saw four years of consecutive growth. Previously he held the position of chairman and CEO for Miadora. Under his guidance the company became an innovator in the e-commerce world. Prior to Miadora, Gilbert held the position of COO and Vice Chairman of The Sharper Image. The company’s stock increased four-fold under his supervision.
In 1990, Gilbert led the rollout of retail entertainment stores for Warner Bros. Studio Stores (WBSS), opening more than 80 stores over three years. Gilbert has held various merchandising and operational positions for both May and Federated Department Stores. Gilbert earned his BA and MBA from the University of California at Berkeley. He has served as a director for several companies, including: Reading Revolution, Inc.; Informative, Inc.; Cleverset, Inc.; GPA Media, Inc.; Thermaclear, Inc.; Nextsport Inc. and The Santa Clara University Retail Management Institute.
Today Mr. Gilbert leads GCG, a consultancy to early-stage consumer products companies looking to grow and build their infrastructure.
