Submitted By: Dixie Huey, November 08, 2011
November 8 2011, Portland, OR – Kirk Nelson announces the launch of Profit Coach, a new business focused on helping wine and spirits companies achieve peak financial and operating performance. Profit Coach collaborates with owners and general managers to determine how to optimize balance between sales, service/operations and finance then builds a custom model to track performance and coach success.

When teaming up with Profit Coach, a winery or distillery has access to business planning and advisory services, performance tracking and reporting, annual financial planning and development of targets, budgets and metrics and sales coaching through in-person meetings, seminars, webinars or speaking engagements.

According to Head Coach Nelson, “The wine and spirits business is a lot like sports – we need to win the game to produce profits, which in turn allows investment in people, products or services and creates sustainable success. I developed Profit Coach to provide clients with a perspective and clear ‘game time’ results with the right data for decision-making and team motivation.”

Nelson combines the expertise gained from over 20 years in the private sector including extensive financial management with a service philosophy of enthusiasm and engagement. He has served Stoller Vineyards of Dayton, Oregon since 1993, and is currently working with three additional industry clients located in Oregon, Washington and California. Profit Coach also works with a wider array of industries including staffing, manufacturing, service, distribution, banking, and health care.

Prior to founding Profit Coach, Nelson was Chief Financial Officer for The Stoller Group, where he also held posts as President of Xenium Human Resources, Regional Manager, and a number of roles within Express Employment Professionals.
