Biltmore Wines Promotes Jerry Douglas to President

Asheville, N.C. (Oct. 28, 2011) – Biltmore Wines has promoted Jerry Douglas to president. In his new position, Douglas oversees sales, marketing and production of Biltmore wines in the U.S. Biltmore is located in Asheville, North Carolina, and distributes its wines in 26 states.

Douglas joined Biltmore in 1984 and has been involved in the marketing and production of Biltmore wines ever since. Most recently he was senior vice president, with responsibility for Biltmore’s marketing and sales; he has been instrumental in Biltmore’s national distribution expansion in recent years. A leader in the American wine industry, Douglas has served as chairman of the American Vintners’ Association (now Wine America) and is a founding member of the Wine Market Council where he currently serves as a board member. He is a board member of Wine America and the American Institute of Wine and Food, and previously served on the board of directors of the North Carolina Wine and Grape Council.
