Small lots are a specialty

St. Helena, Napa Valley, California, August 2011----Benessere Vineyards’ Winemaker and General Manager Jack Stuart reminds the winemaking community that Benessere is an option for this year’s harvest.

“The Benessere facility has welcomed custom crush clients for the last 16 years,” he says, “and in addition I offer more than 31 years of personal experience in Napa Valley.” Benessere specializes in small lots, and it can handle everything from crushing and fermenting to barrel-aging and bottling. “’Hands-on quality’ is our approach to winemaking,” Stuart adds.

Stuart came to Benessere two years ago. Previously, he spent more than two decades at the helm of Silverado Vineyards. He’s a past president of the Napa Valley Vintners Association and the Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association, and he sits on the Enology Committee of the American Vineyard Foundation.

Owned by the Benish family, Benessere (Beh-NESS-seh-ray) produces about 5,000 cases yearly of Italian varieties, single-vineyard Zinfandels and proprietary red blends. Founded in 1994 by John and Ellen Benish, the winery and its estate vineyards are located at 1010 Big Tree Road, off Highway 29, four miles north of St. Helena. The winery welcomes visitors seven days a week from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., by appointment. Specialized tastings are available at extra charge.
