January 29, 2010, Sonoma, Calif. – Dan Leese, co-founder and president of 585 Wine Partners, will no longer be with the company effective January 28, 2010. 585 Wine Partners was started by Dan and Katy Leese and Doug and Becky Walker with a small group of investors in December, 2005 when they purchased a controlling interest in Red Truck Wines from Cline Cellars. The purchase set off an unprecedented four-year growth period with the company finishing 2009 as the 27th largest U.S. wine company according to Wine Business Monthly. According to the trade publication, 585 Wine Partners was one of the fastest wine companies to reach the Top 30 ever.

In addition to significantly expanding the Red Truck brand under Leese’s leadership, Leese and Walker, along with some of the members of 585 Wine Partners, launched and/or acquired several highly successful brands including Picket Fence Vineyards, Bivio Italia and Steelhead Wines. As an ongoing partner in these ventures Leese will continue to play a significant role in their development.
