MEA CULPA:

You may have noticed that News Fetch had a big glitch yesterday.
Some of you:
  • Did not receive your News Fetch.
  • Received News Fetch yesterday, but the links did not work.
To make sure everyone got a fully functional issue, we resent the issue to everyone.

That meant that some subscribers r
eceived two perfectly good issues with working links.

All of this is because yesterday we used a new system in Amazon’s ECS cloud to speed up delivery.

Obviously, it did not work quite the way we had planned.

We’ve fixed the issue, but
we apologize for the confusion and inconvenience.

TODAY'S FEATURED WINE - is from the archive

Lewis Perdue's Rating of Chateau Potelle: Syrah: Mt. Veeder - Napa Valley-California: : 2004: United States

The current runway fashion trend in wine is creating a whole world of ascetic, fruit impoverished wines. It's really sad to see happening with Syrah ... and for that reason, no wonder that Syrah sales have never caught on with consumers ... and sales are sucking.

I've had more than my fill lately of those wimped out, über-stylish,trendy, metrosexual Syrahs and so needed to repeat the memory of this one.

This is a big romping Syrah, inky and intense with black cherry, blackberry and currant fruit and tannins that will play your tongue like a drum. The 2009 currently sells for $75. Tasted at a birthday party for my friend Tony Correia.

WINE REVIEW POLICY: For winery tasting samples, gifts from friends or family or samplings at a party or event, review it truthfully, but only if I like it. If I have paid my own very-hard-earned money on a bottle, the gloves are off and it gets what it deserves ... whether perfect or puerile.
