While creating this issue, I liked this song best: Royals By Lorde.

TODAY'S FEATURED WINE

Stolpman Vineyards: Sangiovese: California Santa Ynez Valley: Estate Grown - Ballard Canyon: 2010: United States

You might as well nail this Sangiovese label to the center of my heart.

Deep, rich, big, and a perfect exemplar of what Stolpman Vineyards calls the “Cherry Leather Chocolate” trifecta.

Very evocative of the 2012 Venge Penny Lane Sangiovese.

Retail $31. Had a glass last week at Opal in Santa Barbara.

 REVIEW POLICY:

For winery tasting samples, gifts from friends or family or samplings at a party or event, review it truthfully, but only if I like it. If I have paid my own very-hard-earned money on a bottle, the gloves are off and it gets what it deserves ... whether perfect or puerile.
