99% of organic social posts create almost no engagement (But hang on, there's an upside)

From: VentureBeat -- 'Businesses should not jump to the conclusion that social media marketing isn’t working, however.

As with marketing to the “long tail,” businesses that do moderately well with social posts could get great results, and companies should not be put off by the findings, says SocialFlow CEO Jim Anderson.'

' “The massive scale of the most successful one percent of posts makes everything else look small by comparison,” Anderson told me. “To use a television analogy, most every show’s ratings look weak if you compare them to the Super Bowl. But that doesn’t mean that everyone else should just give up on creating great programming. And the same is true with social.” '

TODAY'S FEATURED WINE

Guigal: Rhone Blend/Red Wine: : : 2010: France

Sort of like starting off in Lyon then being dumped on the Marseille docks ...

Nice fruit, balance and smooth mouthfeel...for about 20 minutes.

By the time for a second glass, the fruit had defected to the enemy and left behind a lot of abrasiveness and some pretty austere pepper.

I'd drink this if someone else bought it, but only if I got a glass from the first pour. $12, not a bargain on sale at Safeway.

REVIEW POLICY:

For winery tasting samples, gifts from friends or family or samplings at a party or event, review it truthfully, but only if I like it. If I have paid my own very-hard-earned money on a bottle, the gloves are off and it gets what it deserves ... whether perfect or puerile.
